The large layoffs being seen across industries has a potential long term impact - on the exiting employee self confidence, which further impacts the candidates future employability. During such times it is important to self access that whether your layoff is happening due to poor performance (in which case the employee must take responsibility of the same and improve themselves in the future) OR is it because of role redundancy? If it is the latter, then this small realization of the exiting employee can create a fundamental shift in their mindset which will hold there confidence and thereby help them find new opportunities soon thereafter. In such cases the exiting candidate must also ask the company to spell out the reason for exit and take a letter of recommendation from the employer.
