Comment : Though this is a decade back, but the experience stayed with me. This was my second time applying for a job with AMEX within 6 months and the first one was rejected by me little awkwardly on the day of joining. I was a little apprehensive going for the second time and as I walked into the room, i saw the same HR lady sitting in the room who had interviewed me the first time and had a little uncomfortable conversation for not joining. I was expecting that to come up this time and was getting ready for some grilling on that. However, to my surprise, she made me very comfortable and did not bring up the topic at all. However, she did ensure through her questions and clarifications that my doubts are cleared and i get more assured. I did join this time and later in an informal chat with her brought the topic up to which she mentioned that she respected the decision that I thought of applying for the same organisation again, which shows my interest to join them and grilling me for the first time would have killed that interest. People have reasons for not joining but that should not be the criteria to judge them. We are hiring for ability and experience, that’s prime and make it a pleasant experience in the interview to bring them out from an interviewee.

Comment : This was an internal position which I had applied for. So the feedback is from an internal employee perspective. I was given to understand at the beginning of the year that the job would be mine if I could tick off each of the goals set by my leader who also happened to be the hiring leader. since I had accomplished all of the goals outlined I was fairly confident I would get the job. There were two rounds of interviews and it went fairly well per me, nothing in the question and answers which would lead to a failed opportunity. Yet at the end of it all I was not selected, the candidate who was picked up had no experience of the market or the role, he did not even have people leader experience, and role was that of leading 100+ resources. HR did not flag off any of those obvious gaps. They also failed to establish that the hiring leader in question was able to save his job a few years ago basis the testimony of the successful candidate. HR itself had investigated the accusations of malpractice and yet they were the ones who were okay with the selection. Everything was a charade. HR functions in Amex had no coordination.

Comment : Good experience . Much senior person did the interview who later I discovered was associated for 8 years with the process. Great fact finding questions on experience, knowledge and resume presented. Overall satisfied and recommend.

Comment : I was made extremely comfortable prior to the interview and even when the interview process started it was casual and at no point during the interview did I feel uncomfortable. My interview consisted of general questions related to my career, hobbies etc. and a coding round. Would highly recommend to anybody who wants a terrific work atmosphere.

Comment : My overall experience was great, the interviewer made me very comfortable, offered tea coffee, made me settle down first and then started having a conversation regarding the role and how I would be able to contribute towards it. Gave me detailed explanation of the job profile and made me access if it fits my career plan or not. It was a very casual conversation and a good experience for me.
